As a guest at the Wellness & Spa Hotel Ermitage you can select from three different gymnastic lessons every day to maintain or improve your mobility. You will also experience how you can give your body the necessary movement in everyday life. Sustainability is certainly not an empty word for us regarding fitness and your needs are of great concern to our wellness representatives. Our wellness trainers will show you how easily you can integrate more movement into your everyday life and purposefully break through the cycle of sedentary life. Here are some examples:

Stomach - Legs - Buttocks

With strengthening exercises you strengthen the musculature of your stomach, legs and buttocks. You thereby improve your body’s posture, increase your self-confidence and work purposefully against the problem areas of stomach, legs and buttocks.

Movement in everyday life

Our wellness trainers will show you how you can easily incorporate more movement into your everyday life.

Since our everyday life is shaped mostly by sitting, eating, being in a car, working on the computer, watching television, etc., we want to play out everyday situations together in these lessons to break through the cycle of sedentary lifestyles.

We will show you how to mobilise your back when you are sitting and lying down, how you can integrate simple strengthening exercises whilst you are brushing your teeth and why you should always choose the stairs instead of the lift.

Naturally you will also take part directly in the exercises. At the end you get to keep the brochure with its numerous practical tips so that you remain fit and healthy at home!

Bodyforming

Help to shape your body into a sporty outline. Different aids such as Theraband, gym ball and light weights help to gently activate the different muscle groups in your body.

Pelvic floor gymnastics

Preventative exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. This is helpful for slight incontinence and can reduce backache in the lumbar region of the spine.

Fatburner

Your love handles are really in for a hard time. Through low intensity gymnastics you start burning off the fat and train in the aerobic zone.

Jogging

Are you looking for the ideal route for your daily morning jog? We recommend the history trail from Schönried to Saanenmöser, starting at Horneggli Valley station. The route is practically all level up to Saanenmöser apart from one large upward gradient and there is a gravelled surface that is pleasant to run on. The distance to Saanenmöser is approx. 2.5km. For the return route you could choose the somewhat higher and further way over Schlittmoos, but then you must accept a somewhat longer ascent. The distance for the return via Schlittmoos is approx. 4.5km.  There are flat stretches that are good for jogging in the valley area between Saanen and Gstaad and/or up to the Chlösterli (the oldest chalet in Gstaad). Mountain runners look for the challenge instead with approx. 600 metres of upward gradient at Rellerli or Horberg.

Back gymnastics

Due to lack of movement, the back becomes a problem zone for many people. Do something good for your back. With the specific training of the hips, stomach and back musculature you strengthen your body.

Ski gymnastics (December to March)

How to prepare yourself properly for your day of ski. It gets your body going and promotes your balance and co-ordination.

Relaxation gymnastics

By gentle stretching your musculature you improve your mobility and reinvigorate stressed muscles. This is the best form of relaxation after a demanding day.

Yoga

Yoga exercises improve your flexibility and increase your capacity to concentrate.

Pilates

Pilates is a holistic training of the body, which deals above all with the deep seated, small and usually weaker groups of muscles that ensure a correct and healthy body posture. Training includes muscle-building exercises, stretching and concentrated breathing. The aim is to strengthen the musculature, improve stamina and co-ordination of movements, improving the posture, stimulate the circulation and increase body awareness.

Water gymnastics

Start your holiday with gymnastics in the water, it is easy on the joints and enjoy the ease of your movements owing to the buoyancy of the water. Our saltwater pool further increases this effect.

Sensible walking with MBT shoes

The healthiest and most pleasant kind of locomotion for people is the most natural kind: to walk barefoot on soft, uneven ground. In some areas of the world this is part of everyday life – around the East African origin of the Masai. The Masai are known for their perfect posture and do not suffer from complaints that are common elsewhere: knee or hip complaints or pain in the lower back. Now the Swiss Footwear Technology called MBT is offering all the natural benefits of walking barefoot even on hard, even grounds.

In the Wellness & Spa Hotel Ermitage Golf you will have the opportunity to walk in MBT shoes through mountainous world of Schönried. The Hotel will lend you a pair of these special shoes for the lessons.

Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is 40-50% more effective than walking without sticks, Nordic Walking trains all the important muscle parts similar to cross-country skiing. Arms and shoulders are actively included thereby making the exercise more efficient. Nordic Walking is also simple to practice. A natural movement with alternating rhythm. The stick, led from above, swings forward, puts back up and again. This straight movement is repeated, one stick after the other one. It fills the lungs with aromatic and oxygenated local air of Saanenlande.

Indoor-cycling

Indoor-cycling is a special cardiovascular training on purpose-built indoor bikes. Group dynamics and music whilst you ride ensure that Indoor-cycling is never boring. The music is a fundamental element in this training because it replaces the mountains, descents and flat passages. It is practically impossible not to feel motivated. Indoor-cycling does not have a competitive character, the participants do not need have to show how good they are, but they should be healthy in principle. The course leader must be informed of any current injuries or illnesses or if any medication is being taken that may affect the cardiovascular system.

Water Bike

A new kind of sport from Italy: Water Bike. Similar to the Spinning, the participants ride the Water Bike on a course with an upward gradient, quick descents and different positions. The resistance of the water stimulates the circulation and the movement of the water gently massages the musculature of the lower extremities.
