With over 40 km of optimally prepared slopes, Destination Gstaad is one of Switzerland’s top cross-country ski areas. The cross-country ski area features beautiful panoramic views and plenty of sun for both skaters and fans of classic cross-country skiing at all levels of ability. The destination features cross-country-ski trails, training trails, and even flood-lit night trails. The entrance to the the blue Schönried trail can be found near the Bahnhofmatte in Schönried, within easy walking distance from ERMITAGE. This runs along the stream towards Saanenmöser. Thanks to its central location, Schönried-Saanenmöser is an ideal training area.
The Gstaad-Feutersoey-Gsteig trail is especially suited for pleasure skiers owing to its moderate climbs. There are 15 km available for skating and classical styles.
In Lauenen, an 8-km, blue trail winds through the snowy moors and meadows of the Rohr.
Sparenmoos provides a total of 21 km of blue, red and black trails (classical/skating) for an unforgettable cross-country experience on the high plateau above Zweisimmen.
The 13-km “Talloipe” (valley trail) from Zweisimmen to Lenk runs through the beautiful Simmental. The trail is prepared for both classical and skating styles.
The glacier area boasts perfectly groomed trails and makes cross-country skiing possible during summer months as well. From up high, enjoy the view of various snow-capped peaks extending all the way to the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.
